In Fall of 2023 photographer/director Troy Nebeker was sent on assignment by Rover, the world’s largest network of 5-star pet sitters and dog walkers, to photograph pets in Barcelona and London. Of course, we all asked…are pets different in Europe? Rover, who has a strong foothold in Europe wanted to tell authentic pet stories locally, highlighting landmarks and people in those markets. "It was a blast, says Troy, who is a pet lover. The pets and owners are pretty much the same where ever you go, but the surroundings were different and specific to Barcelona and London neighborhoods.

Founded in 2011, the Rover app and website connect dog and cat parents with loving pet sitters and dog walkers in neighborhoods across the US, Canada, the UK, and Europe.

The company’s goal is to empower the community of trusted pet sitters and dog walkers to run their own pet care businesses on Rover with the tools and security of a global company to back them.

Whether a person needs a dog walker for the day, overnight boarding for a month, or daily visits for your cat, there’s a sitter on Rover who’s the perfect match for you, your pets, and your lifestyle. That is what Troy aimed to show in his work. We think he did just that!
