Food and lifestyle photographer Sarah Flotard was recently hired by Starbucks to create a visual campaign for the new Starbucks Reserve Store in the Iconic Empire State Building in NYC; a one-of-a-kind destination that highlights the company’s commitment to push the boundaries of coffee craft and offer customers new and multi-sensory coffee experiences.
“We wanted to visually inspire and create moments of connection between customers and Starbucks partners in the gorgeous space,” says Sarah Flotard. “Our creative goal was to highlight the innovative, hands-on workshops and guided tasting flights as well as new coffee beverages and craft cocktails.”
The assignment, including both still photography and video, took place over a month-long period and was shot and produced in both NYC and Seattle. The images and video showcase the heritage, expertise, and dedication to coffee craft through interactive coffee offerings and unique products. Customers can order from a giant video menu board that spans across three very large sized screens that includes video and still photography.
“I am honored to have been a part of the opening of the ESB store in the Empire State Building in NYC. Says Flotard. “Having grown up there, the building has a lot of nostalgia for me.”
Starbucks ESB opened its doors to the public on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 9 a.m. ET. Spanning 23,000 square feet and three floors.
